Triangle Off-Road Cyclists

Triangle Off-Road Cyclists (TORC) is a key advocate for the establishment of more trails in the Triangle area of North Carolina. We are a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit, founded in August 2005. Prior to that, the Triangle’s mountain bike community was served by individual mountain bike clubs focused on a specific trail network. TORC was formed to unify the smaller clubs into a stronger voice.

More than 5,000 Mountain Bikers

Today, we have over 5,000 members in our group on meetup.org, where we organize events like group rides and races. And you can join us officially for as little as $39 a year.

Come ride with us. We welcome all riders or potential riders. So we regularly offer group rides, clinics, and events to accommodate people with all skill levels.

Trail Work

We also schedule trail workdays throughout the year to build new trail or maintain existing singletrack. So check our events calendar and volunteer at a trail near you! Trail workdays are essential events for TORC and the local mountain biking community at large.

TORC has built strong relationships with Park and Recreation Departments in the Triangle counties. We also have working relationships with private land developers and public land managers. These partnerships provide local mountain bikers with opportunities for trail access while protecting the future of existing trails.

Races

TORC’s races are a great way to meet other local mountain bikers and compete. And TORC holds several races per year, so you know there’s one for you. Each race usually has multiple categories, so that you can compete with others at your skill level as individuals or as a team.

Triangle Off-Road Cyclists: Groups & Connections

TORC holds local group rides nearly year-round throughout the Triangle for all different skills levels. And the beginner rides are some of our most popular. These rides allow participants to meet new people, learn new skills and trail systems, and have fun. Keep an eye on our event calendar – visit meetup.com/torc-nc#calendar .

You can find us on Strava. And we are on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Tag us with #TriangleOffRoadCyclists.

Help us continue to promote, build, and maintain mountain biking in the Triangle. Join Us!
